Hiina mereväe arengust viimastel aastatel. 8 aastaga on välja tulnud 72 korveti klassi uhiuut sõjalaeva. Lisaks hulgi muid aluseid.

Last two 056 corvettes for #PLAN have been commissioned. This means, the service has inducted a total of 72 corvettes (light frigates in service parlance, displacement 1,400 tons) over the course of just eight years. The very first hull had entered service 12 March 2013.

Arvestades, et Hiinlaste esmane eesmärk on jõu projitseerimine Lõuna-Hiina meres, siis lennukikandja kehvem ulatus ei tohiks liiga suur probleem olla. EMAL-si rakendamise osas jään hetkel skeptiliseks, sest isegi ameeriklastel on sellega probleeme. Loomulikult on hiinlaste tegu n-ö õppeprojektiga. Kui õnnestub, siis tehakse jälle sammuke edasi ja hakatakse paremaid aluseid valmistama. Laevade ehitamine käib neil ju suht kiiresti, mis on kahtlemata suureks peavaluks ameeriklastele.
