USA-s linnugripp siis levinud lehmadele-veistele ja sealt edasi inimesele
FIRST HUMAN CASE OF AVIAN FLU IN TEXAS

A Texas dairy worker tests positive for avian flu, marking the U.S.'s first human case linked to the recent cattle infections.

Public health experts are on high alert. The bird flu has spread to humans after jumping to the cows, raising fears of a new pandemic threat.

Efforts to monitor and manage the situation intensify, with the CDC, FDA, and USDA closely involved.

USA tegeleb linnugripi uurimisega koos Hiina ja Šotimaaga
The US government is spending $1million of American taxpayer money to fund experiments on dangerous bird flu viruses in collaboration with Chinese scientists.

The research involves infecting ducks and geese with different strains of viruses to make them more infectious, and study the viruses' potential to 'jump into mammalian hosts,' according to research documents.

It is being funded through the US Department of Agriculture and collaborating studies will take place at sites in Georgia, Beijing and Edinburgh in Scotland.

It comes despite similar research being restricted in 2022 and growing concerns that dubious Chinese studies may have started the Covid pandemic.

Linnugrippi tuvastati piimast
BIRD FLU VIRUS DETECTED IN MILK FOR THE FIRST TIME

H5N1 bird flu has been found in ‘very high concentrations’ in raw milk, according to the World Health Organization.

While pasteurized milk remains safe, this discovery marks a new and alarming pathway for potential cross-species transmission.

The risk of H5N1 spreading from birds to cattle and potentially to dairy products is escalating as the virus adapts to new hosts.

'ZOMBIE' DISEASE KILLS FIRST TWO HUMANS

Research in Texas suggests the first Americans to die from 'zombie deer' disease, aka Chronic Wasting Disease, consumed infected venison.

The disease causes deer to act confused, drool, and lose fear of humans. Humans showed symptoms of sudden confusion, aggression, and seizures.

24 cases have been reported in North Carolina, with the 2 hunters exhibiting severe symptoms after eating the deer meat before dying.

A study in the Neurology Journal points out the lethal risks of Chronic Wasting Disease, nearly 100% fatal, raising fears of its spread to humans.

Let's address the fear porn here.

CWD is a prion disease like Mad Cow. We don't know why it's happening and spreading in deer populations. We have hypotheses but we really don't know yet.

It's been hypothesized that eating CWD meat, particularly neuron connected tissue like near the spinal cord or brain could cause Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease in humans. I assume the two hunters died of that. This quote is stolen from an article, "study is based on an unnamed 72-year-old man who had a “history of consuming meat from a CWD-infected deer population… His friend, who had also eaten venison from the same deer population, recently died of CJD, raising concerns about a potential link between CWD and human prion disease.”"

We don't know for sure but considering what we do know about similar prion diseases it's probable. Wildlife departments across the US have advised hunters to thoroughly inspect the behavior of deer before shooting and inspecting the carcass for any signs of the disease.

Long story short this isn't some new scary revelation if true. It's not creating zombies. Its doing what similar prion diseases do.

PAYING ATTENTION NOW?

Lawmakers are seeking explanations following revelations that the US is funding a project at a Chinese military lab aimed at enhancing the lethality of bird flu viruses to humans.

Eighteen Congressional members have questioned the Department of Agriculture (USDA) regarding this initiative, which was initially reported by DailyMail.

This project is part of a $1 million partnership between the USDA and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, which manages the Wuhan laboratory implicated in theories about the Covid lab leak.

WHO nimetas linnugripi murettekitavaks ja monitoorimist vajavaks.
WHO says the risk of H5N1 bird flu is "evolving with the virus and needs real-time monitoring."

Esimene otse lehmalt inimesele kandunud linnugripi juhtum
FIRST EVER COW-TO-HUMAN BIRD FLU CASE: CONTRACTED BY RUBBING EYES

More details have emerged about the Texas dairy worker who was the first documented case of bird flu spreading from cows to humans, diagnosed after developing severe pinkeye - with no respiratory symptoms.

Swabs linked his infection to the H5N1 strain found in the herd.

With bird flu detected in 36 herds across 9 states, health experts urge protective measures for those in contact with livestock.

Notably, the H5N1 virus can have a fatality rate of over 50% in humans.

Linnugripi levikust inimesele
“The virus may soon develop the ability to transmit from one human to another… This is of great concern. Earlier birds… then it started affecting mammals and now the virus has evolved and developed the ability to infect humans…” @WHO Farrar
“We have to make sure that the H5N1 does not come across humans as it can easily develop the ability to transmit between humans.”

Last year, scientists warned of a key mutation that would help supercharge human transmission down the road — the critical “E627K” mutation in the virus’s RNA polymerase PB2 gene. ➡️Well, guess what effing appeared in a CDC report for the first time last month in an infected Texas man? ⚠️That very goddamn E627K mutation! This is mammalian adaptation. This is why WHO is warning we are maybe approaching the brink of human adaptation.

(Warning article about E627K from 2023).
https://science.org/content/article/bad ... n-pandemic

(CDC report from April 2024).
https://cdc.gov/flu/avianflu/s

This was precisely my worry last month when I also warned about this key mutation when it was found in the Texas man who got infected. Later studies show that the mutation seemingly arose just in the man.

Notice how much the CDC tried do downplay this E627K mutation when they found it last month. Yet a year ago, the Science article from 2023 warned it was one of the most worrisome mutations for avian flu to acquire for human danger!

Again, the new E627K mutation was specifically “Acquired in the patient”!

Translation—this mutation is NEWLY EVOLVED. It’s not been seen much in birds or cows before. This specific strain with E627K seems to have emerged in the Texas man. This is why we are worried. The virus is evolving and this mutation is being favorably selected (unfortunately)

In terms of potential fatality— while it’s hard to predict what a further mutated bird flu virus can do…. Past H5N1 infections in 254 human cases has been generally very deadly for HALF the identified cases, according to the WHO. Need vigilance.

So in order for #H5N1 avian influenza to fully become a human to human efficient adapted virus… there are still many additional changes needed. See article. But the evolutionary leap is not big the more the virus spreads in animals adjacent to humans.

How fatal is H5N1 avian flu you ask?

WHO global data says: ~50% Case Fatality Ratio. ➡️that’s pretty bad. Maybe lower if better testing, but still not something we can ignore.

📌"From 1 January 2003 to 26 February 2024, a total of 254 cases of human infection with avian influenza A(H5N1) virus have been reported from four countries within the Western Pacific Region (Table 1). Of these cases, 141 were fatal, resulting in a case fatality rate (CFR) of 56%.

📌Globally, from 1 January 2003 to 26 February 2024, 887 cases of human infection with avian influenza A(H5N1) virus were reported from 23 countries. Of these 887 cases, 462 were fatal (CFR of 52%).""

Jaapanis leviv toksilise shoki sündroom.. ...
TOXIC SHOCK SYNDROME SURGE IN JAPAN

Japan faces a rapid increase in Toxic Shock Syndrome cases, with 801 instances of hemolytic streptococcus reported since January—nearly triple last year's count.

Health experts warn that even minor skin injuries can introduce the bacteria, leading to severe complications like tissue necrosis or death.

The uptick is linked to relaxed pandemic measures, causing a rise in related infections like pharyngitis.
