They shot st his car while other far-left protesters threw stones at it.

The presidency claims “terrorist groups” have infiltrated the demonstrations, but protesters argue the government is violently repressing dissent over the new fuel policy.

Indigenous leaders have also accused the government of allowing unchecked mining and oil drilling on ancestral lands.

The Government of Grenada said Thursday that it is “carefully reviewing” a request by the United States regarding the temporary installation of radar equipment at and the deployment of associated military personnel to Maurice Bishop International Airport at the southern point on the Island of Grenada, which sites roughly 90 miles to the north of Venezuela.

The 9,003-foot-long by 148-foot-wide runway, constructed by Cuban and Soviet forces for dual-use operations, is one of the largest in the Caribbean theater and capable of handling C-5M strategic airlift operations. Just 90 miles from Venezuela, it provides critical force projection capability. Grenada owes both its liberty and economic stability to US intervention.

The country of Grenada in the Caribbean has confirmed that the United States government has recently requested approval to install “radar equipment and associated technical personnel” at an airport.
