An inspection of units capable of using tactical nuclear weapons was announced in Belarus.

In accordance with Lukashenka’s order, a sudden inspection of non-strategic nuclear weapons carriers is being conducted in the Belarusian Armed Forces. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Belarus.

A squadron of Su-25 attack aircraft of the 116th Assault Air Base and the 587th Separate Missile Divizion of the 465th Missile Brigade armed with the Iskander-M missile systems are involved in the inspection. A unit of the 336th Rocket Artillery Brigade armed with the Polonez-M missile systems will also take part in the drills.

It was noted that “the entire range of activities from planning, preparation and use of strikes with tactical nuclear warheads” will be inspected. In particular, the issues of supplying special munitions to military units and their loading on launchers (attachment on aircraft) will be worked out.

As part of the inspection, some of the aviation forces and means were redeployed to a reserve airfield. According to our information, today at least two Su-25 attack aircraft flew from Lida airfield to Machulishchy airfield. It’s also planned to send units armed with the Iskander-M and Polonez-M systems to position areas.

The inspection began amid the announcement of preparations for the Russian drills on the use of tactical nuclear weapons. Belarus’ inspection is ‘synchronized’ with them.

The Asipovichski and Nioman training grounds are likely to be used for the inspection.

Units of the 19th Mechanized Brigade are being withdrawn from the area bordering Lithuania

According to our information, units of the 19th Mechanized Brigade stationed in Ashmiany and Pastavy districts are returning to the permanent deployment point (Zaslonava, Lepel district).

We recall that in mid-March, the brigade’s units were redeployed to the area bordering Lithuania as part of the combat readiness inspection. In total, the Belarusian military were there for almost two months (from March 14 to May 6).

On May 6, a military cargo train with equipment of the 4th Separate Tank Battalion (military unit 22092) was being formed at Ashmiany station. The battalion was stationed in the vicinity of Tsentseli village (Ashmiany district). The unit marched in a combined manner (by public roads and as part of a military cargo train) and has already arrived at the permanent deployment point.

On May 6, a train with equipment of the 1st Selarate Mechanized Battalion (military unit 14398) was being formed at Pastavy station. The battalion was deployed in the vicinity of Yushkoushchyna and Padaliany (Pastavy district). And in the morning of May 7, the train was moving from Pastavy station to Kruliouschyzna station. Also, today a convoy of vehicles was moving along the R45 route (Pastavy - Hlybokaye) escorted by traffic police.

As we assumed earlier, the units of the 19th Mechanized Brigade had been stationed in the area bordering Lithuania at least until the end of April.

According to preliminary information, the 19th Mechanized Brigade will be replaced by one of the units of the 120th Mechanized Brigade in the area bordering Lithuania.

Equipment of the Russian Armed Forces to be transferred to Belarus again?

It’s known that the intelligence officers will work on the territory of the 557th Engineering Brigade (Hrodna) and Lida airfield.

Right now, an An-148 of the Special Flight Squad “Russia”(RA-61727), which is operated in the interests of the Russian FSB, is landing at Hrodna airport. According to our information, Vladimir Kulishov, the First Deputy Director of the Russian FSB and the Head of the FSB Border Service, is on board.

Kulishov will take part in a meeting of the Board of the Border Committee of the “Union State” of Belarus and Russia and hold a meeting with Hrodna region Governor Uladzimir Karanik in Hrodna.

Two more Su-30SM fighters of the Russian Aerospace Forces arrived in Baranavichy

According to our information, on May 23, two Su-30SM fighters of the Russian Aerospace Forces arrived at Baranavichy airfield from Buturlinovka (Russia).

Now there are two Su-24MR reconnaissance aircraft and at least four Su-30SM fighters (at least six since yesterday) of the Russian Aerospace Forces permanently stationed at the airfield in Baranavichy. Also, Il-22PP aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces is stationed at Lida airfield.

The last two fighters arrived to escort Putin’s twin planes. It’s unknown how long they will stay in Baranavichy.

Rotation of air defense units providing security for the Mazyr oil refinery took place

In response to the proposal to strike at the Mazyr oil refinery, one of the units of the 147th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment of the Belarusian Armed Forces (military unit 96869, armed with the Osa-AKM SAM system) was redeployed to Yelsk district in April.

The purpose was to protect the Mazyr oil refinery from drone strikes and other means of air attack. The military were stationed in the vicinity of Palauki village, about 3 km from the refinery.

In the report on military activity for May 20-26, we noted that a unit of the 147th Regiment returned to its permanent deployment point in Babruisk “from the area of task fulfillment.” We assumed that it was about the return of the military from Yelsk district and that as part of the rotation, another unit of the regiment would be sent to cover the refinery.

This assumption was confirmed. According to our information, another unit of the 147th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment will arrive in Palouki village (Yelsk district), where it will stay until the end of June. One can expect that at least one battery of the Osa-AKM SAM system will be used to cover the Mazyr oil refinery.

In addition to the 147th, units of the 1146th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment (military unit 97106, armed with the Tor-M2K SAM system) are also stationed in Yelsk district.

Rotation of air defense units providing protection for the Mazyr oil refinery indicates that the security threat to the refinery is recognized as permanent.

Not only Osa-AKM and Tor-M2K SAM systems are involved in the protection of the Mazyr refinery. Eight combat vehicles, or two batteries of each SAM system, will take part in the military parade on July 3 in Minsk.

Peamised jõupingutused õppuste ajal on suunatud valitsus- ja sõjaväeobjektide õhurünnakute eest kaitsmise probleemide lahendamisele. Lisaks peavad meeskonnad lennundusväljakutel maaväeüksuste katmise huvides praktiliselt läbi töötama mitmeid küsimusi.

Õppusele on kaasatud Valgevene relvajõudude lennuväeüksused, õhutõrjerakettide ja raadiotehniliste üksuste üksused, samuti Venemaa kosmoseväe luure-, hävitaja- ja armee lennumeeskonnad.

Lithuania eased the ban on imports of products from Belarus. According to the website of the Lithuanian Customs, the ban on imports of food from Belarus and Russia to Lithuania “doesn’t apply to goods transported in transit, as well as goods that are intended only for personal use during the trip (i.e. in opened packages).”

New hangars are being built in Asipovichy to store Iskander systems

They are similar to the hangar for the Iskander-M missile systems, which was built on the territory of this military town in 2022-2023. One such hangar is designed to accommodate 13 pieces of equipment.

Most likely, the new storage facilities are designed specifically for Iskander. Earlier, the Belarusian Armed Forces received at least 18 pieces of equipment for the Iskander-M missile system, and one hangar built earlier was not enough to store them.

The construction of new storage facilities may indicate that Russia is planning to transfer a brigade set of Iskander-M missile systems to Belarus.

Naftan is one of two Belarusian oil refining enterprises. This refinery is the main source of income and foreign currency for the Lukashenko regime.
