Vangide tulistamine on kvalifitseeritud Ukraina kriminaalkoodeksi artikli 438 järgi - sõjaseaduste ja -tavade rikkumine, mille eest karistatakse 8-12-aastase vangistusega või Rahvusvahelise Rooma statuudi artikli 8 alusel.
Kriminaalkohus – sõjakuriteod, millel ei ole aegumistähtaega.
Vastavalt sellele saavad juhtumeid uurida vaid kaks institutsiooni: riiklik õiguskaitsesüsteem ja Rahvusvaheline Kriminaalkohus

The publication also noted that another Briton Aiden Aslin, who was with Pinner in Russian captivity, intends to sue Russia soon.
Pinner and Aslin were released from captivity, in which they spent five months, in September 2022. In an interview with The Daily Mail, they spoke about torture in Russian captivity. According to the British, the torture in custody could last for several hours: prisoners were electrocuted, stabbed, and staged the death penalty.
In early June 2022, the Moscow-controlled "DPR" group sentenced Pinner and Aslin, who fought in the Donbas as part of Ukrainian troops, to death.
A British citizen Aiden Aslin met his future fiancee during a trip to Ukraine and stayed in the country, and in 2018 he swore an oath and began serving in the 36th marine brigade of the armed forces of Ukraine. Along with Aslin, his friend, 48-year-old former soldier of the Royal English Regiment Sean Pinner, was captured. In 2018, like Aslin, he officially joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and served in the 36th Marine Brigade.

Prosecutors identified 2,200 victims who were tortured in Russian captivity

"Videos of abuse of Ukrainian prisoners, which are distributed on the network, are only part of the Kremlin's criminal strategy," said General Prosecutor Andriy Kostin on the air of the telethon.
